Located in the historic Merchandise Mart Lofts, Kitchen K opened at the very beginning of the restoration of Washington Avenue. Owner Pablo Weiss fused modern design and urban architecture to create an atmosphere unlike any other. Picture windows that surround the dining area highlight Washington Ave’s activities, while a wide open kitchen creates an exciting atmosphere inside. Chef Joshua Norris, professionally known as Bobbi Wasabi, adds to the flavor with his Hawaiian-influenced culinary skills. The all-day menu has everything from eccentric salads and sandwiches to classic entrees like meatloaf and fried chicken. The dinner menu highlights Bobbi’s expertise, as it features seasonal ingredients to create divine entrees of seafood, pork, or poultry. Also a prix-fixe menu, the dinner menu becomes a great deal where patrons can try any three courses for $25. Add on a beer or wine pairings for $7 or $10 more respectively, and foodies leave Kitchen K sated and content.
