			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So you&#8217;re probably thinking to yourself, &#8220;What is a Foodie?&#8221;</p>
<p>A Foodie is an informal term for a particular class of aficionado of food and drink. The word was coined in 1981 by Paul Levy and Ann Barr, who used it in the title of their 1984 book The Official Foodie Handbook.</p>
<p>We have created the coolest program for all you food lovers. We have selected 52 restaurants, from all various neighborhoods, various cuisines and price points, but they have a couple things in common, killer food and great passion that oozes from the chef/owners of these non-corporate gems.</p>
<p>Our vehicle to promote these restaurants is a deck of cards&#8211;just like playing cards&#8211;each card contains a detailed description of the restaurant and is also a $10 gift certificate to that restaurant. The decks retail for $30, making it almost ridiculous to not own one&#8211;who doesn&#8217;t eat out at least three times a year&#8230;</p>
